Le World Press Photo disqualifie le photographe Giovanni Troilo
Chaque année, la communauté internationale du photojournalisme s’échauffe sérieusement après l’attribution des très convoités prix du World Press Photo. Cette année, suite à une protestation du maire de Charleroi, l’organisation a disqualifiée mercredi 4 mars le photographe primé dans la catégorie « Problématiques contemporaines » après une ridicule valse hésittion.

PHOTOGRAPHER SAMUEL ARANDA WINS PREMIER AWARD PHOTO CONTEST
The international jury of the 55th annual World Press Photo Contest has selected a picture by Samuel Aranda from Spain as the World Press Photo of the Year 2011. The picture shows a woman holding a wounded relative in her arms, inside a mosque used as a field hospital by demonstrators against the rule of President Ali Abdullah Saleh, during clashes in Sanaa, Yemen on 15 October 2011. Samuel Aranda was working in Yemen on assignment for The New York Times. He is represented by Corbis Images.

My WPP 11 Awards Days’ Trip
Alors que l’exposition des lauréats du World Press Photo se termine une semaine plus tôt à Beyrouth en raison d’une controverse politique sur le travail du photographe israélien Amit Sha’al (3ème prix dans la catégorie Arts et divertissement), à Paris, la galerie Azzedine Alaïa prend le relais jusqu’au 21 juin 2011.
